Senior Full-Stack Python Developer (Remote)

If you’re a talented engineer, you have many employment options. So, what do you prioritize in your search — competitive salary and benefits? Remote work? Professional growth?

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to fill a position that offers all of the above plus the chance to do something truly meaningful — build software that is improving education for literally millions of students — in a company culture grounded in mutual respect.

Our client builds a SaaS platform that is an integral part of the educational experience for more than three million students worldwide: a digital assessment platform that deepens student engagement, while enhancing the instruction teachers are delivering. It is a small company making a big difference.

The core of the stack is Python/Flask and React. An ideal candidate will be able to work on any part of the software stack — from the user interface to data ingest and storage. An engineer will be a member of technical leadership team, collaborating directly with CTO and VP of Engineering to drive technical strategic initiatives, improve development processes, and help advance the team technically.

Some of the relevant technologies and areas of interest for this role are listed below. Not all are required, but you should have enough experience to excel in this role:

  • Python, Flask, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, GraphQL

  • React, axios, webpack

  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQS, Redis, Redshift, Elasticsearch, MongoDB

  • Distributed systems including integrating with third-party SaaS APIs

  • Architecting, designing, and implementing scalable cloud-based software, with experience in:

    • full-stack performance and scalability monitoring and testing

    • cloud-based security

    • developing and deploying microservices

    • writing and reviewing technical documentation

    • diagnosing and troubleshooting production applications

Communication skills are especially important to us. We're an established, fully remote team that relies on collaborative, proactive, and effective communication. To thrive in this role, you should be adept at and comfortable with:

  • brainstorming technical and business solutions

  • articulating technical or project risks and concerns

  • seeking input from others and then driving ideas toward an actionable solution

  • communicating with customers, UX designers, QA engineers, and Finetune leadership

We are deeply committed to fostering a company culture where every member of our exceptionally talented and tight-knit team — spanning more than 14 countries — feels welcome and valued. From non-discriminatory hiring practices to ensuring a work environment free of discrimination or harassment to accommodating flexible work schedules, we celebrate diversity and the importance of work-life balance. We also like to have fun.

What we offer:

  • Long-term, fully remote project.

  • Flexible working hours.

  • No bureaucracy, micromanagement, time tracking.

  • Company culture aimed for employees' comfort and happiness.

  • Unlimited yearly paid vacation (take as much as you need).

  • Competitive salary from $60k/year.
